Married Couple's Retreat

Like all living things, a marriage relationship requires nourishment to grow. Couples need time to be alone to share concerns, hopes, promises, ideas and dreams. Building a successful marriage requires taking time to learn and use techniques for growing a strong relationship. Yet in this hectic over-scheduled world it is difficult for couples to schedule the time for important relationship-building where sharing and open discussions are possible.

Couples retreat will provide an opportunity for you to grow together as a couple and to spend quality time together. You'll also be able to fellowship with other couples and gain some insight on how to grow your marriage.

Cinema of Faith

The Cinema of Faith ministry provides fellowship and outreach opportunities using films to illustrate the love of Jesus and strengthen our walk with Christ. Each film shown contains elements that inspire, motivate, or challenge our thinking to be more Christ-like, and to frame the Christian message in a way that is relevant to all people.

Childcare is provided at each file showing for children 11 & under for a small donation. Kids 12 & over are welcome to attend the films. Each film carries the Dove Foundation Seal & Rating.

Tickets are FREE for all Cinema of Faith events and will be available at the Information Desk. Please feel free to take extra tickets to distribute to friends, neighbors, and family. The Cinema of Faith ministry is supported by free will offerings and by the sale of the film DVD following the event. This will help offset the licensing fees paid for public performance rights.

"The Wager" starring Randy Travis

Michael Steele is ten days from the biggest night of his life...walking the red carpet as a Best Actor nominee. Just when it seems that he has overcome industry blacklisting and persecution for his beliefs, Michael finds himself fighting for his life in a supernatural wager between God and Satan. "The Wager" is a good example of how you can sometimes take your life for granted.

The Wager

Michael Steele, played by Randy Travis, is a movie star who had it all and was also a good Christian man with good Christian values. In the film, Michael is tested over and over again in his faith. Like Job, he keeps going and keeps his faith in God. This movie is a wonderful example of how faith can guide us through rough situations.

"Another Perfect Stranger" (Sequel to "The Perfect Stranger")

Another Perfect Stranger

Although this film is a sequel to the 2006 film, "The Perfect Stranger", you do not need to see the first film, as this film stands on its own. Nikki Cominsky's daughter Sarah, now 19 and heading West for college, is at her own spiritual crossroads. To further complicate matters, her mother has recently revealed that, nearly ten years ago, she was the dinner guest of the Almighty Himself. Thinking her mother is certifiably insane, Sarah strikes up an unlikely friendship with a travel companion who shares her disdain for religion.

“The Second Chance”

  • Saturday, July 12th
  • Inspirational Film Short: “Prodigal Son” at 6:30pm
  • Feature Film: "The Second Chance" at 7:00pm

This is a realistic and gritty film which will hit close to home for many Christians. Pastor Ethan, comfortable in his ministry and pay, is sent by the board of his mega-church to get involved in the urban Second Chance church, where Pastor Jake, an African- American pastor, ministers to drug addicts, gang members, and teen mothers. Pastor Ethan soon realizes that he has his priorities mixed up and even his father, who originally founded the Second Chance, realizes he has gotten off the path he needs to be on.

The Second Chance

This film will inevitably cause the viewer to examine his/her motives, and that is the ultimate compliment to be paid to this movie. The acting and production values are very good in this film. There is some crude language, spoken even by Pastor Jake, but his wife reminds him to keep working on what comes out of his mouth. This film will make the viewer think, and there are not a lot of movies which do that.

Steppin' Out

Steppin' Out is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery support and spiritual growth ministry that provides a safe environment where we can share our experience, strength and hope in Christ, that we may solve our common problems of addictions, and the various types of relational dependencies.

We embrace the 12-step program of recovery, recognizing and uplifting the underlying Biblical principles they manifest. The only requirements for participation are a desire for freedom from our dependent behaviors and an open heart to the message of wholeness made available through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
