As the Body of Christ, we are called to care for one another in practical, as well as spiritual ways. Please consider allowing God to use you to fulfill His command. Tell us what you'd like to do - remember, our God works in us to "will and to do of His good pleasure," - we'll let Him open doors to use our gifts. If you are willing to be part of a caring group of people demonstrating Christ's love in practical ways then print or pick up the Mercy Ministry brochure and fill it out.

Care and the love of knitting (and crochet) have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Prayers are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed, it is offered a final prayer before being sent along its way. Besides knit and crochet; the shawls can be woven, sewn, quilted or machine knitted. This ministry is an extension of the Mercy Ministry. “The Lord is close to the broken hearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 |

It is estimated that seven million Americans now care for an elderly parent in the home. But caregiver is a broad term that includes much more than home care. Perhaps before your widowed parent came to live with you, you have helped them so they could live independently. Even if a parent or loved one was placed in a nursing home, care by the family continues. It may come as a shock when you find your caregiving is much more difficult than you realized, and that " Nobody trained me for this!" Caregiving as an opportunity sent by God for your own spiritual growth and maturity. It isn't easy, but the Lord is there to help us! Caregivers Support Group offers love and support to you as you journey through this passage of your life. Join others for an encouraging time of support.
