Work at Friends Church: Executive Pastor
This position will assist the Senior Pastor by ensuring that the strategic ministry objectives of the church are effectively and efficiently obtained.
Principle Function:
As Chief of Staff, the Executive Pastor will take the lead for implementation of the vision. This person will manage day-to-day church operations, mentor and develop staff, serve as a catalyst for all ministry initiatives, and provide pastoral support where necessary. Qualifications:
- Posses a thorough working knowledge of the Bible
- Have a personal, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and be in substantial agreement with Evangelical Friends Church faith and practice
- Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master's preferred
- Possess the spiritual qualifications for serving as an elder
- Experience sitting on or interfacing with Elder boards preferred
- Have training and documented success in running a large business, organization, or church
- Those with experience as a pastor/teacher will be given extra consideration
- Have a relational approach to managing staff and building staff teams, with the goal of creating a strongly united, yet fully empowered team of people with diverse giftings
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of finance, bookkeeping and budgets, and have a track record of successfully working with all three
- Be current in ability to use and understanding of information technology and social media
- Be able to undertake and manage multiple tasks/projects/initiatives/problems simultaneously
- Have hands-on experience with human resource management and have a working knowledge of current HR laws and regulatory requirements
- Have experience in facility/tenant management, oversight and expansion
- Prefers to work within the context of a team, rather than alone
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of the vision and mission of the church across all ministries, departments, boards, councils, committees and staff
- Build the staff into an effective, unified ministry team
- Provide oversight of the staff team, as guided by the Senior Pastor, and:
- Work with them to determine their ministry goals, their annual plans and budgets
- Meet with them to plan projects, discuss their ministries and offer suggestions, with the goal of helping the church to achieve its mission
- Conduct or assist in their quarterly performance reviews
- Shepherd them, caring for their spiritual, physical, emotional and ministry needs
- Manage the financial areas of the church, in partnership with the Stewardship Commission, Treasurer
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor

Salary and Benefits:
